We are very fortunate at Parkview to have the lovely Russell Park right next door. It's a great place to go for a stroll on a sunny day like today. We can have a natter with our friends as we walk around, and we always meet some interesting people and their dogs. ... See MoreSee Less

This afternoon we had a very successful and entertaining Virtual Reality Tour of London, taking in many of the Capital's best loved sights. We were tapping along to the background music, and what we saw triggered many memories of happy times spent in and around London.
There were all sorts of reactions to what we saw in both the VR Headset and the accompanying pictures, including:
"No I don't want to see that. I drove a London taxi for twenty years and I don't need to see London anymore"
"Crikey look at that. That's quite a building. There's a lot of history there"
"Oh yeah this is marvellous"
"The Abbey is beautiful. Goodness me, wow. Oh my goodness, how lovely is this"
"Buckingham Palace I've seen that. Thank you that's lovely, and you've got all the pictures too"
"Why are all these people lying on the floor? There's a lot of people here, I don't think I'll go there"
"I remember when a bus tried to go over Tower Bridge while it was going up. Yes it did, it jumped the gap"
"Places like King's Cross must have altered a lot over the years"
"Oh look at the swans, he was chewing himself. Goodness gracious"
"There's a priest inside and lots of people and kids. The sky is blue and there's Buckingham Palace. In Covent Garden there were entertainers doing all sorts of things"
"I enjoyed that as I lived in London. Have you been to Newcastle? That's lovely too"
"Oh where are you, hold my hand I don't want to get lost. Thankyou I really enjoyed that"
"Do you think she was one of the models? She just smiled and walked past, not an ordinary girl"
"I used to work near there in Soho. Wouldn't it be funny if I saw myself there"
"Oh wait a minute, what's she wearing. Oh my God, stripes! No that looks awful"
"I like the boat at Tower Bridge. I've stood there myself"
"Wow the swans, they're beautiful. They're very powerful aren't they"
"Oh I know Greenwich, there didn't use to be so many people"
"We used to wander around lots of these places. We didn't really think about how beautiful and special these places were.
"That's great. There's nothing better than that. You've done well there, thank you"

A lovely trip down memory lane reminiscing .
We read newspapers from the 1960s and 1970s, and flicked through our scrapbooks , along with looking at some items from years gone by ....☺️
