On this page, you will be able to find information to help you understand how to fund your care.

Funding options
Private Funding
If you have over £23,250 in capital, you're considered responsible for paying your care home costs privately. You'll need to consider the best route to fund the care home costs, and seeking financial advice can help you navigate this, especially if it's a long-term care solution. If the value of your assets drops below the capital threshold, you may be able to reduce the amount to pay privately.
Local Authority
Sourcing local authority funding should always be the first point of reference for care home costs. This type of funding depends on your income and assets, and to qualify, your capital (savings and property) should be below £23,250. Your local authority should ensure they meet your care needs if you cannot arrange the care yourself, and contacting your local council s social services department helps to discuss your funding eligibility.
