Innovation at Avante
The care sector is constantly evolving and expanding with new environmental technology and opportunities for innovation.
We utilise this exciting technology for sustainable practices at Avante Care & Support to help us develop and grow our services and create a thriving environment.
Innovation is part of the Avante Care & Support life, helping us with the support and care for our residents and the surrounding community.

A Better Nights Sleep - Care Home Acoustic Monitoring
At Avante Care & Support, we believe that outstanding care is about more than simply meeting needs—it’s about enabling every person we support to live a fulfilling life and enjoy the highest possible quality of life. A key part of overall wellbeing is something we all depend on: a restful and uninterrupted night’s sleep.
Traditionally, night-time support has often involved routine checks throughout the night. Although these checks were carried out with the best intentions and a focus on safety, they could sometimes disturb the deep, restorative sleep that plays such an important role in physical health, emotional wellbeing, and day-to-day quality of life.

Tovertafel's Magic Table at - Amherst Court
Amherst Court in Chatham, Kent, has installed the Tovertafel ‘Magic Table’ and received an overwhelming reaction from residents.
The Tovertafel is an award-winning innovation from the Netherlands, renowned for its cutting-edge approach to dementia care. The technology contains games for people living with mid to late-stage dementia and adults with severe learning disabilities. Its design helps encourage instinctive participation, inviting engagement and stimulating a level of physical and social activity rarely seen in people living with dementia in the later stages of their journey.
You can play Tovertafel games independently or in groups, designed to stimulate people living with dementia. Playing these games can create incredible moments of happiness for people with dementia, enriching their day-to-day lives.
Reminiscing at Riverdale Court with the Rempod
Riverdale Court residents and staff were delighted James Brokenshire, Conservative MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup, opened their virtual rail carriage.
The Railway Rempod is an immersive scene with the feel of an authentic train carriage featuring replica furniture, decoration, and accessories to take people with dementia back in time and on a journey through their local landscape.
The Rempod has transformed an entire room to create a familiar and stimulating environment for residents, helping relieve boredom and depression and improving mental wellbeing and memory loss.

Keeping in touch with your loved ones
Staying connected with loved ones is vital for our care home residents. Across our 11 care homes, we’ve introduced communal tablets, helping residents video call friends and family and stay in touch with life outside their homes. Our team is on hand to explain and teach our residents how to use the tablets correctly, enhancing accessibility.

The e-reception book
As part of our digital strategy across our 11 care homes, we’ve introduced e-reception books, helping visitors check in and out safely with minimal contact. These e-reception books have been installed through an iPad in our care home reception area and head office, providing easy access. It also safeguards personal information in line with GDPR, keeping the data secure and private.

Virtual tours at all of our homes
Looking for the ideal home for your loved ones was extremely difficult throughout the pandemic. During that time, we created virtual tours, allowing you to “virtually” visit all of our homes from the comfort of your own home. The 360 virtual tours take you through rooms, communal areas and gardens. If you would like to be guided through this with our Family Liaison Manager, Michael Chalk please contact him on:
