Rotary Club Donation Supports The Willows Day Care Centre Fundraising Campaign
The Willows Day Care Centre in Sittingbourne has taken another exciting step towards its fundraising goal, thanks to the generous support of the Rotary Club of Sittingbourne.
The Willows, part of Avante Care & Support, has been raising funds to purchase an interactive projector that will provide clients with a wide range of engaging activities, including interactive games, puzzles and immersive visual experiences.
The equipment will help enhance daily sessions, encourage participation, support cognitive stimulation and create even more opportunities for social interaction and enjoyment.

Supporting Older People in the Sittingbourne Community
As part of its commitment to supporting local community organisations, the Rotary Club of Sittingbourne donated £250 towards the appeal. To recognise the donation, Day Care Officer Jeannette Spooner attended the Rotary Club's presentation evening on 1 June, where she received a certificate on behalf of The Willows and spoke to members about the day centre and the important role it plays in supporting older people across the local community.
Sharing The Willows' Story on Rotary Radio
The support continued when Jeannette was invited to the Rotary Radio studio in Sittingbourne on 2 July to record a podcast explaining how the donation will help The Willows achieve its fundraising goal.
Although initially nervous about speaking on the radio, Jeannette soon found herself at ease thanks to the warm welcome from the Rotary Radio team.
"I was very nervous about speaking on the radio," said Jeannette. "When I arrived, I discovered I was the only charity representative who had come into the studio to record in person. The other local charities had sent their information by email to be read out on their behalf. Steve Wood was incredibly kind and patient, allowing me to take my time, which made the whole experience much easier."
