Pilgrims View Rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission as Residents Prepare to Move to New Purpose‑Built Home, Malling Grange
Avante Care & Support is pleased to announce that Pilgrims View care home in Snodland continues to be rated ‘Good’ in its latest assessment by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), published on 11 August 2026.
The inspection confirmed strong performance across all five key areas – Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well‑Led – reflecting the dedication, compassion and professionalism of the Pilgrims View team.

A service built on dignity, respect and meaningful relationships
The CQC report highlights a service built on dignity, respect and meaningful relationships, with relatives praising staff for being “gentle and kind and caring” and describing the home as having “a friendly atmosphere” and “warmth when you walk in.” Inspectors noted that people felt safe, supported and involved in decisions about their care, with staff demonstrating strong dementia care skills, safe medicines management, and effective communication with families and health professionals.
The assessment also recognised the home’s commitment to continuous improvement, including well‑maintained facilities, prompt equipment replacement, robust safeguarding practice, and a culture of learning from feedback and incidents. The report further acknowledged the provider’s investment in staff development, including partnerships with local colleges to support social care students.

A Positive Rating Ahead of an Exciting New Chapter
Pilgrims View’s ‘Good’ rating comes at a pivotal moment, as residents prepare to move to Avante’s latest and most eco‑friendly purpose‑built care home, Malling Grange, opening Autumn 2026 in West Malling. The CQC highlighted how residents, families and staff have been closely involved in planning the transition, with many looking forward to the modern facilities, including spacious en‑suite bedrooms, welcoming lounges, and landscaped gardens designed to support wellbeing and community connection.
Residents have already played an active role in shaping their new home, helping choose suite names and following construction progress through regular updates. Their involvement reflects Avante’s commitment to person‑centred care and ensures that the familiar warmth of Pilgrims View will carry forward into a contemporary, future‑focused environment.
The move marks the next step in Avante’s long‑term investment in high‑quality care environments, bringing together modern design, sustainable features and the trusted culture of kindness that Pilgrims View is known for.
