Parkview Care Home Colleague Named Adopt a Grandparent Supporter of the Year 2026
We are delighted to share that Margaret Atiror, a valued member of the team at Parkview Care Home, has been recognised as Supporter of the Year 2026 by the charity Adopt a Grandparent.
The award celebrates Margaret’s outstanding commitment to supporting the charity and helping to create meaningful connections and friendships for older people living in care homes.
Championing Meaningful Connections
Margaret, alongside the wellbeing team at Parkview Care Home in Bexleyheath, has played an important role in introducing the Adopt a Grandparent programme to residents, helping to create opportunities for companionship, friendship and social interaction.
Since introducing the initiative at Parkview, Margaret has continued to champion the charity and its work, going above and beyond to raise awareness of the programme across the wider social care sector.
Margaret and her colleagues featured in Adopt a Grandparent’s 2025 annual review video, highlighting the positive impact of the programme. Throughout 2026, she has also helped introduce the charity to other care providers and co-presented at several Skills for Care events, sharing her experiences and encouraging more care homes to get involved.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
Margaret’s dedication and enthusiasm have helped Adopt a Grandparent extend its reach, creating opportunities for more older people to benefit from companionship and meaningful friendships.
Her contribution was recognised by the charity with its Supporter of the Year 2026 award, celebrating the positive difference she has made.
Her work, alongside the Parkview wellbeing team, reflects our commitment to enriching the lives of residents through meaningful activities, companionship and person-centred care.
Although Margaret has recently moved on from Avante Care & Support, we are incredibly proud of her achievement and wish her every success for the future!
