We are governed by a Board of Trustees that oversee our aims, objectives, and strategic business management.
The Board includes a team with extensive experience in social work, local government, and other relevant sectors. No trustees receive any salary or benefits, ensuring our commitment to directing resources towards our charitable objective.
Andrew Ireland
Chair of Trustees
As the Chair of Trustees, Andrew is a qualified social worker with a 37-year career in local authority social work for several councils. His career spanned both children’s and adult services. Moving into management, he became Director of Social Service in three local authorities, Swindon Borough Council, The London Borough of Havering and Kent County Council, over thirteen years.
Having finished his local government career, Andrew set up his own social care consultancy, focusing on improvement work. Andrew is in his fourth year as a Trustee of Avante and has been Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee.
