Avante Care & Support celebrates providing 30 years of care and support through its residential and home care and wellbeing support services.
December marks Avante Care & Support’s 30th year of providing care and support to those most vulnerable across Kent, Bexley and Greenwich.
Avante Care & Support is a registered charity and provides residential care and support for older people and those living with dementia, as well as a home care and wellbeing support service for those living in their own home requiring care and wellbeing support.
Avante began as Kent Community Housing Trust and adopted the name Avante Care & Support to more accurately describe its services. As well as caring for older people, Avante has also provided care and support for young people and their families across Kent and Medway formerly known as Stepahead Support.
Avante employs over 1200 dedicated staff and cares for and supports over 1100 people through its ten care homes and home care services.
At the heart of Avante’s care delivery is its Philosophy of Care, supported by the Eden Alternative, based on the core belief that ageing should be a continued stage of development and growth, rather than a period of decline. Studies show that implementation of The Eden Alternative is a powerful tool for improving quality of life and quality of care for those living in care homes.
Last year Avante was proud to be the first care provider to have all of their care homes and home care services on the Eden registry. The not for profit organisation was also awarded at the London Borough of Bexley’s Caring at its Best Awards 2019 and is a finalist for the Laing & Buisson residential care award in 2021.
Once the current pandemic is over, we will be arranging celebrations across the organisation so we can properly mark this milestone.
Stuart Cross, Managing Director, commented ‘We are delighted to celebrate our 30th year providing care and support across Kent, Bexley and Greenwich. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our dedicated staff and the governance from The Chair and Board of Trustees. We should all be very proud of what we have achieved over the last 30 years ensuring those who use our care services are supported to live a vibrant and fulfilling life’.
