The modern design provides well equipped, bright en suite bedrooms to support person centred care. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with small pieces of furniture from their homes to make it feel more homely.
The home also has beautiful dining areas and lounges, a beauty salon; the perfect place for a little pampering and relaxation and a piazza area on the first floor which is used for entertaining and activities. All meals are nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared and cooked at the home and the catering team are always on hand to meet any dietary requirements or requests.
At the heart of Northbourne Court is our philosophy of care, the Eden Alternative (Awarded Gold), where staff encourage social interaction, engagement and work towards the eradication of loneliness and boredom. Residents at Northbourne Court are supported to take part in activities, go out on day trips and socialise with other residents and staff.
There are beautiful gardens to the back of the home and residents are often seen pottering about or planting the raised beds with seasonal flowers and on those balmy sunny evenings, residents enjoy a BBQ and outdoor entertainment! There is a visitor cabin in the grounds of Northbourne Court, available for families to use to meet their loved ones safely in a warm, friendly and Covid19 compliant environment.
Northbourne Court offers a respite care service that gives family carers or caregivers the chance to have a break from caring, go on holiday or simply have some well-earned time off.

‘It’s not a care home, it’s my home’
The team at Avante Care & Support is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those under their care. Through their experience, commitment, and skills, they strive to create vibrant and fulfilling communities at Avante.
Recently, Michael, a resident at Northbourne Court, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the care and support he has received. Michael's journey at Northbourne Court began over 18 months ago, following a challenging period of health issues that left him frail and reliant on a wheelchair.
In his own words, Michael shared, "‘When I came to the care home, I was a 7 stone man unable to walk without the aid of a Zimmer frame. Due to the brilliant care from all the staff members and the brilliant range of quality food, I am now a 12 stone, sixty-something, fully fit man. Activity members would knock on my door, wait for me to waddle up to the Piazza, get me seated and when the muscle started, they would get me up to dance, Zimmer and all to start with! A brilliant 90-minute of daily entertainment. It made me realise that these people were not just carers. They really cared’
Michael highlighted the proactive approach of the staff, who not only provided care but also encouraged him to participate in daily activities, including dance sessions that gradually helped him regain strength and mobility.
Today, Michael can be seen walking independently around Northbourne Court, actively engaging in various activities and playing his much loved hobby of Pool, inspiring others to take part.
Michael emphasised, ‘Northbourne Court is not a care home to me, it’s my home and the staff and care are exceptional, they are more than just carers’.
