‘Thank You’ Bridge Haven care home residents!

On the morning of Thursday, 22nd June, residents at Bridge Haven care home were preparing for their moment to feature on ITV, courtesy of Bridge & Patrixbourne School choir and Young Voices.

Young Voices host the largest children’s choir concerts in the country, and this year has partnered with ‘Thank You Day’, on Sunday, 2nd July, to encourage schools to sing ‘Thank You for Being a Friend’ in their local care home.

‘Thank You for being a Friend’ by Andrew Gold has been selected as the song for everyone to sing for this particular show of appreciation!

All schools in the UK were invited to take part in the project to say thank you to their neighbours, colleagues, friends, family or carers.

Music has a unique ability to bring people together. So, children were asked whether, it’s a big sing-a-long in their school, their local community or singing in a local care home, to do so during the week leading up to Sunday, 2nd July, to say Thank You together.

ITV selected Bridge & Patrixbourne School choir to represent the south-east of the county to be filmed performing their rendition of ‘Thank you for being a friend’ at Bridge Haven care home.

Their performance was fantastic and the residents at Bridge Haven thoroughly enjoyed hearing the children performing, so much so, they invited the children to sing the song again and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

Tune into ITV South East at 6pm on Friday 30th June to watch the full coverage of the Young Voices, Thank You Day campaign.

Thank you Bridge & Patrixbourne School and everyone who helped make this happen!
