Avante Care and Supports Care Home, Amherst Court, hold a Sweetheart Dance for the residents.
On Wednesday 11th February Avante Care and Supports care home, Amherst Court in Chatham, held a Sweetheart Dance afternoon for the residents.
The dance took place in the Calypso Café within the home, which was decorated from top to bottom in a Valentines theme. Michael Lack, a local performer also attended the dance and serenaded residents with some of their favourite love songs. Many family members joined in the occasion and took the opportunity to dance with their loved ones.
There was a vast array of delights to eat and drink on the day including fresh strawberries and cream, cupcakes and coconut ice, all made by the residents and quickly consumed by all! There was a chocolate fountain and a few glasses of champagne too; love was truly in the air at Amherst Court.
Trish, Activities Coordinator said: ‘We had a lovely afternoon and made sure all the residents enjoyed themselves. We know that Valentine’s Day isn’t necessarily a happy occasion for those that are remembering loved ones that have maybe passed away, but we ensured that our tea dance was a light hearted affair and everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves’.
