Season of Goodwill
It’s been the season of goodwill for staff at Avante Care & Support’s Head Office in Faversham. Generous and kind staff chose to donate items to the Faversham Food Bank this year rather than buying a secret Santa gift for each other.
Jacqui Morris, Director of Quality said, ‘Colleagues suggested that we do something different this year rather than buy each other gifts. The demand on the Faversham Food Bank has risen during the run up to Christmas and staff at Head Office wanted to help support their local community by providing items to those in crisis. It was our pleasure to be able to donate much needed food items’.
Staff at Head Office also raised £396 for the Avante Charitable Fund through the annual Christmas raffle on Monday 16 December. Avante Care & Support’s Charitable Fund provides extra activities and events for residents and service users, which are in addition to the usual activities and day trips that regularly take place across the services.
All raffle prizes were kindly donated by the following suppliers, First Choice Marshalls, Lawson Queay, NSN, EON,Blue Leaf, PDS Hamiltons, Superior Care, Langford and Chamberlayne, Just Imagine, David Ibbett, Digital image solutions, Frontier group, Medipharmacy, Bidfood, PHVC, Quantec, VESTA, and Bechtle.
In the weeks running up to the raffle, a Bauble competition was held where staff paid £1 per bauble for the Christmas Tree in reception and nominated a charity to receive the raised funds. This year’s chosen charity was Kent Air Ambulance who will receive £35.
