Nigel Mitchell, Assistant Finance Manager, qualifies to become member of AAT
In February this year Nigel Mitchell, Assistant Finance Manager at Head Office, qualified to become a member of the AAT, “Association of Accounting Technicians”. For those who are not aware AAT is a professional body, recognised in business which shows its members can demonstrate competence and understanding in accountancy.
Nigel has studied hard to gain this qualification and did so on a distance learning basis, which is no mean feat after a hard day’s work to then open the study books of an evening. The AAT qualification is split across three levels and has taken Nigel four years of dedicated studying to qualify and be recognised by the AAT.Nigel’s hard work was recognised on Friday 7th November at the annual AAT Award Ceremony at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, Albert Embankment in London. The evening began with a champagne reception, followed by the award ceremony itself. Awards were presented by former AAT President, Mike Evans and there were 147 newly qualified members in attendance that evening.
Having achieved the qualification, Nigel has now applied for full membership to the AAT, allowing him to use the initials MAAT after his name (Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians).
Debbie Pert, Finance Director said ‘I would like to say a big well done to Nigel as this is an excellent achievement. I know that Nigel has worked extremely hard for this qualification and has applied a lot of his learning to his current role at Avante Partnership.’
