Christmas at Amherst Court.. so far!
Residents and staff at Amherst Court are already in the Christmas spirit busily making Christmas decorations and wrapping presents.
Every resident at Amherst Court has a personalised Christmas Bag which thoughtful staff have spent time planning and buying presents that they know resident will enjoy unwrapping on Christmas day. The gifts are then wrapped and placed in to individual Christmas bags and filled with other treats and chocolates for each resident to open on Christmas day. This has become a tradition at Amherst Court ensuring every resident has a bag of gifts to enjoy.
“So far the residents and staff have made and decorated Christmas trees from paper plates and made Snowmen from socks. The sock Snowmen have recently become a firm favourite activity for our residents, which we will continue making the whole time we have odd socks!”Marie Taylor, Activity Coordinator.
The Christmas trees have also been put up in each lounge, where residents have enjoyed decorating, whilst singing along to Christmas songs.
The home also had its Christmas Fete on the 29th November. With stalls ranging from Christmas gifts, homemade cakes and pastries. The day was extremely busy and raised over £533.
This week the residents at Amherst Court are looking forward to the annual Christmas cake decorating competition, which will take place on the 9th December, pics to follow!
Merry Christmas from everyone at Amherst Court!
